In response to a discussion of race relations at the University of Missouri:
I have seen this before, in Nashville back in the 1970s. The Negroes filed a lawsuit in Federal court demanding the merger of two state universities……Tennessee State University (local black college) and the University of Tennessee at Nashville (mostly white). Both schools had about 7,000 students EACH. After the two schools were forced to merge by Judge Tom Wiseman, the Negro administrators came first, then the Negro faculty, and by that time TSU was back to 7,000 students again……instead of 14,000. What TSU actually got out of the deal was money, the UT-Nashville campus and library, and the undying contempt of thousands of people.
My question is – did this really happen?
